As part of our pre-launch - here is a film of Dan Roberts AKA @chickensaltash talking about the use of Social Media in his School. Leon Cych talks with Dan Roberts about his unique style of school management using social media.

We will be supplementing this with talks and CPD at events for senior managers and we will be running dedicated local events with several commercial partners.

Dan's is the first of many forthcoming films designed to pre-prep heads, deputies, HODs in how to choreograph and run dedicated social media in their school. We must stress this is not just about "putting the school on FaceBook" but all the wider community issues involved. It is a long, difficult and protracted process as any headteacher knows and not to be undergone lightly. It is not about introducing an Acceptable Use Policy and letting it gather dust on the shelf it is about a living, breathing, vibrant network of imaginative professionals who want to re-engage with their local communities putting the school at the hub of new initiatives..

Social Media for Schools is all about building a vibrant, imaginative and inclusive Social Network for senior leaders.

If you want to support us we have a Ning professional network for senior managers for which we are taking pre-subscriptions. We will be running face to face and online courses in how to exploit social media and use it for good in your school. So please help us by joining the network now so we can build new ways of managing and learning from the ground up. On this network we will host premium video and audio content - interviews and debates with senior managers telling how they are transforming their schools.

Please do signup to help us with this three year project to connect our schools back into the community and act as a driving force for new jobs and learning. We think the time is ripe for this new initiative. Please get in touch if you want to help or subscribe - we are an inclusive, collaborative organisation willing to partner with anyone to take this vision forwards.
